I have six wonderful pets. I have one dog, Drake and three cats, Shadow, Poss and Elly then, I have two birds; Rocky and Kiwi. Unlike, my dog and birds our cats are wild! They go outside constantly and, have many adventures of their own; however territory is a big issue with cats. And they have one enemy. He's a vicious predator that tries to steal territory from other cats! Our cats don't just hand over their hard earned land to some cat, just because he's a male. This cat seems to go by the name Bo and he means trouble! He has wounded our cats heavily they have been bit, scratched, chased and just about about anything a cat could do. Don't think my cats don't fight back because they do. We've seen him, and it isn't pretty. Well last Saturday my little Siamese Elly came up the stairs. Limping. She was in another cat fight and her leg was bitten, right on her left paw pad. We let her inside and in a nice blanket; she was fatigued and slept soundly. We let her in the garage, were she usually sleeps but, this time she slept in and old wagon that was deep in the garage.
She had been even lazier than usual and we finally saw a good look at her foot it was swollen, to twice it's size. She had barely moved in days and we became worried. She hadn't ate much and she was getting skinny, which is usual for cats this time of year. We finally took her to the vet on Wednesday, and the vet confirmed it was an animal bite though, Elly was so fussy he had to sedate her to get a good look at the infected leg. Luckily, they cleaned all the infection out and now she is healing and well!
Poor cat indeed. Kind-of funny actually, the way your cat's fight back. I would've thought they wouldn't.
